Darlene Leonard was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, majoring in English and Creative Writing at Fullerton College in Southern California. She inspires readers through her action-packed novels using composites of true events.

Based on her life experiences and storytelling gift, her writings educate readers to become aware of the dangers of destructive relationships, along with resources to help them overcome. During her childhood, a congenital hole in her heart required her Cardiologist to restrict her P.E. activities throughout her school years. Her young classmates could not relate to her inability to keep up, so physical limitations resulted in painful bullying.

As a nine-year-old, she stood on the sidelines watching her classmates play ball during recess as the mockery continued. She made a lifetime vow to God that day—to forgive, to try never to hurt the feelings of others, and to show love and kindness to everyone possible.

Needless to say, a nine-year-old could not comprehend the significance of trying to keep such an impossible vow, especially in the brokenness of the world we live in. She turned to writing and music at a young age. Her poetry and short stories have been distributed to family and friends for years. Her dream of inspiring multitudes to protect their families intensified her incentive to write. Her vision is to provide stark examples of domestic violence behind closed doors to raise awareness. Love and compassion for the suffering of others compels her to reach out with empathy to every heart ~ whether single, married, or in a relationship.

The outreach of her writing to comfort wounded hearts is a dream come true.

May it bring healing to your heart!
